October has never been one of my favourite months of the year, but this October wasn’t too bad! It was a little cold, but overall I had a great time being friends and school went well!
I was inspired to do a post on my instagrams throughout the month of October by Class to Closet! These aren’t all of the Instagram’s I took, but the ones I want to share! Here is my instagram so make sure to go to follow me!
Now that we’re so close to the end of the year, I took a look at my moleskine journal and realized I hadn’t been journaling nearly enough as I would like. So I’ve been making an effort to journal more!
This past month I also totally embraced my Starbucks addiction – a member since 2009 and I just embraced it? Okay maybe I have a problem.
I totally need to start showing off my outfits on instagram more, but I’m finding it hard to find good angles. I’ve ordered a tripod, so hopefully that changes!
I’ve finally got my licence, so I can drive myself to class, and I’ve also already gotten addicted to taking tons of pictures and selfies in it!
And of course I was beyond excited to open up a new month in my Kate Spade agenda!
As a student I find myself sitting at my desk until 3am finishing assignments or cramming for exams, and one thing that I really don’t want to deal with at 3am is taking off my makeup. I like taking off my makeup earlier on because I tend to scratch and rub and just touch my face a lot when I’m working, and makeup gets in the way. But of course whenever I think I should take my makeup off, I’m in a super deep flow of concentration, so I put it off, because I don’t like getting up and disrupting the flow. And bioderma is my solution to this problem.
I’ve been listening to 1989 (which I love! I’ll have my full thoughts published in a week from now!) on repeat all day, and it’s now 11:31 and I’m totally stressed about my hsci exam tomorrow morning. So I’m talking a little break to type up this blog post!
Today I was at work for 8 hours, so I wanted to stay comfy and super casual.
I haven’t been wearing a lot of scarves lately, and I wanted to get back into them! I’m kind of scared of accessorizing with them, to be honest! I never know how to wear them! Today I wore this colourful one from Old Navy with my white quilted vest and a dark grey long sleeve top for a pop of colour without being to out there. But I wore it in a more loose ‘letting go’, sort of way. Thoughts? I really liked the way it felt/looked! Made me feel like a weird, but perfect, mix of casual and dressed up!
Ps. Bear with me while I try to sort out my outfit photos! I’m trying to figure it out!
A while ago when the new Fall Fossil Preston collection came out, I did a blog post on my favourite bags from the collection. At that point in time, I hadn’t actually seen anything in person. And the other week I went down to Macy’s with my mom, and I fell in love with the preston collection all over again, specifically the small flap.
Oh. My. God. I need this bag in my life. It’s the perfect size for your wallet, phone, keys and lipstick. It sits perfectly on my body slung across my shoulder and it is just so stinking cute! Unfortunately it’s a bit more expensive than I’m willing to spend on a bag right now, so I’m just admiring from afar. I’m considering saving up and getting one for myself eventually, but I just recently bought my phone as well and have other things I’m looking at.
So if anyone has any suggestions for bags that are a similar size, but a much better price, let me know!
After having a long weekend, this week is going to feel a whole lot shorter than normal. It’s usually Monday/ Tuesday/Wednesday are The longer days for me. But it’s already Wednesday!
It’s started raining again, so I have an excuse to beak out my new nautica parka! It’s so warm and perfect for my lifestyle! It’s not too bulky to wear on the bus or carry around, but it will still keep me warm enough up at school!
Today I wanted to wear my new knee length body con skirt from Old Navy. I’ve never had one of these knee length ones before, and I love it! I stuck with my black and white theme with a pop of gold and pink for accessories (so me!). Then for shoes I grabbed my cut out booties from forever 21! I love the little heel. Comfortable enough for all day, but enough of a heel to give me an oomph!
The weather is starting to take a turn, and I’ve been meaning to buy a pair of shoes that will be able to withstand the winter. Not just the Vancouver winter, but the mountain campus winter. The pair that I’ve been eyeing are the Hunter Wellingtons. I know they’re just normal gum boots, but it’s something about that logo that makes them so much more of an accessory that just footwear.
When I originally decided that I wanted to get a pair, I naturally thought I would get black, or even navy. But I was on instagram and saw someone’s outfit, and she was wearing red, and I fell in love. They’re such a cute pop of colour! And my wardrobe has enough stripes/neutrals/and navy’s to be able to incorporate them into almost anything! Come to think about it, I don’t believe I have a single piece of red clothing. Crazy, I know!
I’ve been spending a lot of time browsing pinterest boards just scrolling through pictures of people and their beautiful boots!
As I’ve said, I want to start doing more OOTD posts, and now that I have a camera that takes picture that are worthy to look at, here’s my first one!
I’ve officially fallen head over heels in love with vests. It all started with the J.Crew vest that everyone is in love with, and now I’m all about the old navy vests. They’re such a good deal, and seriously so comfortable. I have two, and love them both!
I threw on a baseball inspired shirt, with 3/4 sleeves underneath my vest for a pop of colour and love it! I picked it up in Seattle at Etiquette and love it! Paired with a pair of dark wash jeans and my new favorite boots!
This was just a picture i took while waiting for one of my classes. I’m going to get a tripod so I can take better pictures on my own, and try to work out a system.
