I can’t believe it’s already November again! It’s finally acceptable to be decorating for christmas, Red cups are back, and it’s the final stretch before the new year! November is my favourite month of the year, and it has been for a few years now. Every year it brings something completely different to my life, and I’m looking forward to see how this year goes!
Graduation is in less than 2 months and I don’t know how I feel about it. It’s such a weird thought. High school has occupied most of my time for the past five years. I know next year I’ll be focusing on Uni, but it’s going to be so strange leaving this all behind. The extremely old, fluorescent lit hallways. The cranky librarians, and the bad wi-fi (which has actually improved quite drastically since coming back from spring break). And wait for it – My friends.
Although I don’t have a lot of friends who I’m very close with – my fault for being distant, exclusive, and introverted – Il’l be sad to say goodbye. It will be weird not seeing one of my oldest friends, David, everyday. Since the age of 5, David and I have been attending the same school, but next year he’ll be halfway across the country in Quebec. As for everyone else staying in Vancouver, but heading off in different directions, we all say we’ll stay close, and that we’ll see each other all of the time, but I know that by November they’ll probably be at the back of my mind. (Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of practiced distancing myself from friends.)
How am I feeling about the final term of my high school career academically, I’m pretty worried. I need to step my effort into overdrive to ensure that I bump up my English mark and keep up my average. Bumping it up a few percentages wouldn’t be awful, either. I have my fingers crossed that the work load will lighten up a bit, but I’m not relying on it. And on top of all of this, I’m still looking for a job. Probably not the brightest idea; willingly sacrificing 30 hours of my week when I know I’m prone to breaking down under stress. But what can I say? I have dreams that I’m chasing, and they require some money. Plus I’d like to have the option to go shopping every now and then.
And on that note, It’s time to work on my Oratorical. What’s my subject? Why I’m proud to be a Hufflepuff.
‘puff pride, my friends.
