October Instagrams

October has never been one of my favourite months of the year, but this October wasn’t too bad!  It was a little cold, but overall I had a great time being friends and school went well!

I was inspired to do a post on my instagrams throughout the month of October by Class to Closet!  These aren’t all of the Instagram’s I took, but the ones I want to share! Here is my instagram so make sure to go to follow me!

Now that we’re so close to the end of the year, I took a look at my moleskine journal and realized I hadn’t been journaling nearly enough as I would like.  So I’ve been making an effort to journal more!

This past month I also totally embraced my Starbucks addiction – a member since 2009 and I just embraced it?  Okay maybe I have a problem.

I totally need to start showing off my outfits on instagram more, but I’m finding it hard to find good angles. I’ve ordered a tripod, so hopefully that changes!

I’ve finally got my licence, so I can drive myself to class, and I’ve also already gotten addicted to taking tons of pictures and selfies in it!

And of course I was beyond excited to open up a new month in my Kate Spade agenda!

Thanks for reading! Leave a comment 🙂

My ootd mantra

Hello again, and good morning to those who are up with me on this fine thursday morning.  It’s currently 6:30, and I’m on the bus heading to class.  Get used to it, because it’s still the first week and we’ve got way more to go. (I’m mostly just saying this to myself, but it also applies to anyone else who is getting out of bed and consuming their first cup of coffee before 6:30).

I was originally planning on writing about my goals for september this morning, but something much more important came up. Fashion.  Okay, maybe not much more important, but It’s a bit too early to talk about my goals. Anyway, the other day for class, I threw on a pair of jeans, my combat boots, a plain shirt and an oversized white cardigan.  I thought it would be fine, keeping things more casual than I normally would.  It’s school, and I know that, and I should be fine wearing something like that, right? Especially when surrounded with people who wear sweatpants and hoodies everyday, right? Oh how very wrong I was.

With the thousands of people I passed and glanced at all day, the one person who stood out to me was a girl with her beautiful brown hair straightened, wearing a pair of hunter boots and the beautiful J.Crew vest that I’ve been drooling after.

And I had her in mind this morning when I was getting dressed (I guess more importantly I had her on my mind when I was laying out my outfit last night).  As much as I hoped I could have gone into this semester waking up and throwing on a pair of sweats and running out the door with my hair still in a messy bun from when I went to bed, and my  face makeup free, that’s not who I am.  Thankfully now I’m confident enough that I could do that, if I wanted to, but the thing is that’s not who I am.  I love doing my winged eyeliner every morning and wearing an outfit that is photo worthy.  My mantra?  If you wouldn’t do an instagram ootd in it, don’t wear it.

I know some people (I have a few friends in this boat) who think it’s kind of shallow.  Who think getting up an hour earlier just to primp myself for the day is a waste of time.  But the way I see it is that nothing that makes you feel good about yourself is a waste of time.

IRL Friends

I just returned home from the Airport, and it’s feeling a bit odd.
For the past few days I had a friend from Australia staying with my.  We met over the internet, through youtube, which is a bit weird.  But come on, it’s 2014!

We’ve known each other for about three years, and around a year ago he told me that he would be coming to Canada to be a ski instructor for a while.  He was a province over, but when the ski season was over in April he came to stay with me for a few days before jetting down the coast and then exploring the world (He hitchhiked from London to Istanbul.  That’s far.  Go look at a map!)  Then he arrived from Seattle last Saturday to fly out of Vancouver to Australia today.  So, he made good use of my couch and we got to spend time with each other for a few days.

Other than the craziness of spending a lot of time with someone that you met on the internet in real life, him being here was a lot of fun!  Both me and my best friend got to spend time not only with him, but we also got to be a tourist in our own city!  We went to the art museum, visited a few beaches, and spent time doing things we normally wouldn’t do.

Sitting here at my desk and looking over to my couch without seeing him on his laptop is really a weird feeling. Not to mention I might never see him again in my life.  It’s a weird thing.  Hopefully he’ll be back in Vancouver/Canada sometime in the next few years and we’ll be able to plan some more stuff. (He’ll also be legal the next time he’s here, and I’ll have a car to drive!)

P.S Here is is youtube account if you’re curious! He hasn’t uploaded in a year or so, but he’s a hilarious guy!
